Today I want to share with you a story that fills me with pride.
My mother Bianca at 67 YEARS OLD, goes for a run 5 times a week and run 4 to 5 miles every time.
“Running is part of my life” is what she tells me every time I congratulated her on her perseverance and discipline.
Since 2013 my mom has participated in 60 races and she has ran 5 half marathons in our city Miami.
In 2017 during the entire year, she ran 1000 miles and was named in Mr. Raven’s Running Club In Miami Beach Rookie of the Year.
Bianca is always very motivated and knows that this sport is a great benefit to her body and mind. She feeds her spirit, with the wind, sun and rain that she can enjoy when she goes for a run.
My mom has also motivated her close friends to get fit and take care of their health.
While writing this blog I asked this incredible woman to give me some advice for those people who want to start practice this sport and here is her answer:
“Love yourself ALWAYS, take care of yourself, be creative, set goals and stay focus. Remember you do not have to compete with others is YOU vs YOU.”
I want you to know that the power of words is very important. Seven years ago, when my mom was taking care of my baby while I was running a 5k, i thought: “how my mom can be a healthier version of herself” so when I finished the race I told her:
“Mom, I think you are capable of running and participate in this running events too!!”
And so it was with few words of motivation that helped my mother decided to make running part of her life. I want you all to stop been so hard on yourself and start slowly taking a better care of you .
